Back to Basics

Some people will continue to distract, numb out and disconnect. There is no shame in this response. It is a natural response to a threat. In many cases the threat to our safety is quite real.

On the other hand, I believe humanity (and our earth home) is in the middle of the most growth and expansion we’ve seen in at least a century.

How does one continue to work, play, love and laugh amid such enormous change and uncertainty?

Choice is Self-Love

As humans, it appears that we can get pretty mixed up about our choices. We forget that we have them. We tell ourselves that “we had no choice.” We deny responsibility for our choices. We let others choose for us. We forget that choices are meant to be followed by action. We don’t want to admit that choice gives us our results and outcomes.

Love

Love says, “I care too much to let you do that.” Love puts its head down and growls and says, “I will protect you and stand beside you until you are strong enough to protect yourself.” Love grabs the sword of caring and conviction, looks in the mirror and says, “I love you enough to say ‘no’ when I need to and ‘yes’ to your brilliance.”

Student of Surrender

Wisdom and learning are fun for me and keep life interesting. For the most part, I haven’t been too resentful about all the “schooling” that life has required of me. Considering the number of hard knocks that I took, I feel I’m pretty open to growing into my full potential throughout the rest of my life.
